Remembrance Day 2016
Thank you to Year 6 pupils for the wonderful display in the main reception area, created as part of their WWI topic.

The House Captains are selling poppies in school each afternoon and we will all be joining with the rest of the country in holding 2 minutes silence on Friday morning.

In assembly this week we shared the poem, “In Flanders’ Fields” by John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
poppiesThe torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Phase 1 of the building project is complete!

Two classes in Year 5 and two in Year 6 are now in their new classrooms. Thank you to everyone who helped with the move.(Especially a massive thank you to all the staff and builders who stayed late  to get everything ready for the children)

Here are two photographs of one of the newly rebuilt and refurbished classrooms just before we moved back in. I hope that you will agree if has made a massive difference and the children were very excited when they saw them! We are now in Phase 2 which will run until  mid December and involves the rebuild and refurbishment of the next four classrooms – Beech, Willow, Ash and Sycamore as well as completion of the hall and kitchen.
