Puzzle Corner – Christmas Holiday Maths Problem
If you have a bit of spare time over the Christmas Holiday why not encourage your child to have a go at this maths problem? It is just for fun and entries can be handed in to the post box outside Mrs. Johnson’s room at the start of term to be in with a chance of winning a small prize. Remember to encourage your child to show how they tackle the problem and to explain any answer that they might arrive at.
Maths Workshop Morning – November 2017
Thank you to everyone who attended the maths workshop in which Miss Gawthorpe explained the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) approach . It was lovely to see so many parents/carers/grandparents participating in the workshop and then experiencing the learning in the classroom with their child.
We were delighted that so many people were able to attend and that your feedback was so positive. Comments included:

“It was lovely to go into my daughter’s classroom and see them at work.”
“Very happy with the workshop and how different techniques were explained. My child would not have been able to explain these to me and its great to be able to use them at home.”
